I have a strong belief that what happens in our lives does not have to determine our life trajectory. We are more than what has happened to us. We must not merely survive, but thrive.
This blog aims to break down the stigma and shame associated with experiencing abuse whilst also empowering survivors to live the life they deserve. How? To Share, Care and Repair:
Throughout my childhood, I suffered abuse orchestrated by my biological mother. I survived and sought justice. By openly sharing our experiences, we show others how to survive and to seek justice too.
As a clinical psychologist, I will share the impact of trauma and ways of managing resulting symptoms.
Whilst I was eventually able to escape and sought justice, I encountered many hurdles and barriers. We must be frank about the changes we need to see in the world if others are to be protected and to seek justice.
I write this blog to empower all survivors of abuse, both big and little people.
For the little me that suffered abuse and was failed, I hope to have the world hear your voice. You did not deserve what happened to you. You are stronger than you will ever know. I promise to care and protect you.
